The MGI probably won't ever be made for sale, it's just a Legend 2AA host with high Vf (P2K) batwing inside. But I found that different sets of batteries gave the light quite different brightness personalities, hence the "Multi" moniker. Here it is with its sparring partner for the evening, an extremely white Arc LSH-P:

First I ran it with fresh alkaline AAs (all beamshots with MGI on left):

Hey, what did you expect? We are seriously underdriving an already high forward voltage 1W. Light meter readings for this battery set was 118 lux (the Arc LSH-P is making 356 lux).

In went two new L91s (lithium AAs):

Big difference. Although it only registered 206 on the light meter, the output appeared brighter and was a little more useful due to the larger hotspot.

Then I got creative and used three "N" cells w/aluminum spacer button:

A little better (310 lux), but not by much.

So it was time to get crazy as is the MR Bulk way. I split open a CRV3 (pretty easy to do, BTW) and stuck in two AA-sized 3V batteries for a total of 6V:

Now dass whut ah'm talkin' 'bout! 738 lux! And probably about the same Luxeon lifespan expressed in seconds, although I am banking on the high Vf to allow occasional (and I mean occasional) use at this level.

So you can carry around this little EDC-able 2AA light and use L91's or N's most of the time, and then keep a CRV3 in your pocket for those times when the soft output an AA-class LED light just won't do.

Here's to pushing the envelope on your behalf, and as always, I shall remain yerhumblservnt -- MR Bulk...
